Only a few days until Christmas and I am feeling very reflective. For many of us (including me) 2020 has been one of the most challenging years in our lives. Be grateful for who you are, where you are, what you have, and what you have learnt about yourself during 2020. Now prioritise spending precious time with family and friends. Animals are great teachers. They teach us about unconditional love, they teach us about living in the moment, they teach us about caring for others, and they teach us that the simple things in life matter the most. I met this puppy a few days ago…. I fell in love! Seeing life through the eyes of a puppy for an hour or so put my whole life back into perspective. I am working with a team at the moment who are negotiating what they need from their leader to enable them to be great leaders. Unfortunately there is no prescription for great leadership. It is all about the right type of leadership for the situation/circumstances/environment, and you won't know what that looks like unless you talk about it. Scary stuff right… especially if you are the leader! Fortunately the leader of this team is very open and the team has high psychological safety. And the team know this negotiation approach is critical to develop High Performing Teamwork.
