Native birds tweeting, ocean view, Auckland city on the horizon, excellent food and wine, and yes some rain clouds. A perfect planning retreat! I've only been here one day so far and already made changes to my business model.

Do you take enough time out from BAU (horizon one) to work on horizon's three (the future) and two (innovation to meet the future)? It's hard to carve out the time when there is so much going on - but it is critical for personal and business success.

If you would like to talk about how your or your team can balance horizons, please get in touch.

As the saying goes "you can lead a horses to water but you can't make them drink". Or, as a very popular NZ band sing "I can give you some wings and advice but that ain't gonna make you fly". In team coaching, this holds very true. Despite all the good will, support and great tools in the world, sometimes the team just aren't ready. One of the core roles of a team coach is to assess team readiness. And if they aren't ready, work with them to get them to a point where they are...

If you would like to find out more about how your team can prepare to fly, please get in touch.

The concepts of trust (truth and reliability between individuals) and psychological safety (freedom to share opinions and ideas within a team) seem to be everywhere right now. Everyone wants to be nice to their team mates right? But if we are too nice, we might not say what needs to be said, contribute ideas, disagree with consensus and hold each other to account. The result is a happy team that doesn't deliver their potential. Strong trust and psychological safety build the tight rope between delivery and kindness.

If you would like to know more about trust and psychological safety, please get in touch (btw, no elephants were harmed in the creation of this graphic).
