In wine country this time, Havelock North, Hawkes Bay. Why the final part? Well, I have actually just finished the first draft of my first whole book (well my parts are finished - some content from others still to come). It took six weeks of solid work and sits around 98,000 words currently. Now its all about refining, and editing, and refining, and checking, and working with publishers, and checking, and editing. Expect this will go on for a year or so. It sure does take a lot of energy/determination/tenacity/patience to go through this process. Thank you to all those who have supported this project so far, and all who will be involved going forward. It takes a village to write and publish a book :-). Last week my business development consultant asked me why I do what I do. My response – “I have had, and still have, a lot of support in working out what I want to do and making it happen. It's been a long and challenging journey to get where I am today. Now I support leaders and teams to find their sweet spot/Ikigai/true north/purpose, and support them to make their transition to get there a little smoother. I cultivate others to grow to be the best they can be.”

Clarity of purpose really does guide everything I do every day. Thanks for the opportunity to reflect and refocus on what I do and why!

If you or your team would like to refocus on your sweet spot/Ikigai/true north/purpose, please get in touch. My job is to help make your journey a little smoother.

We can store some energy and have some in reserve, but if the energy we use, or give to others, is greater than the energy we generate, or receive from others, it’s impossible to sustain balance. And we all know what that feels like!

I have been doing an energy audit with myself recently, and appreciate I need to rebalance. My focus is to increase areas that fill my energy reservoirs (sleeping well, appreciating nature, time with friends & family), and reduce/manage energy drainers where I can (although some are out of my control).

I think regular energy audits would be beneficial for all of us, and in a team context too. Some simple questions to ask yourselves and your teams:

· What do you do that drains your energy?

· How can you minimise or manage that better?

· What do you, or can you do, that increases your energy?

· How can you get more of that?

If you or your team would benefit from an energy audit, please get in touch.
